Environmental Information
Westomatic adheres to the following regulations
WEEE Regulations
The WEEE Regulations came into force in the UK on the 1st July 2007
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Directive is a European law designed to encourage and regulate the collection, reuse, recycling and recovery of waste electrical and electronic equipment, for which it sets targets.
The Directive aims to:
• Conserve landfill
• Support sustainable development
• Improve our environment
• Reduce risks to human health
It does this by providing impetus to boost recycling, through the proper treatment of discarded goods.*

Westomatic actively supports the WEEE directive.
C10C
Major vending machine producers and importers have formed a not for profit company, C10C to carry out WEEE obligations in the most economic way.
Westomatic is an active member of the industry standard and government approved C10C scheme, which offers a simple cost effective solution to complex legislation.
The scheme can provide a seamless solution to the collection, recycling, treatment and disposal of end-of-life vending machines.
Water Regulations Advisory Scheme (WRAS)
The WRAS promotes water regulations throughout the UK. It helps to prevent waste, undue consumption, misuse or contamination.
RoHS
RoHS stands for The Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment Regulations 2008.
These Regulations implement EU Directive 2002/95 which bans the placing on the EU market of new electrical and electronic equipment containing more than agreed levels of lead, cadmium, mercury, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyl (PBB) and polybrominated diphenyl ether (PBDE) flame retardants.
Manufacturers need to understand the requirements of the RoHS Directive to ensure that their products, and their components, comply.
The RoHS Directive and the UK RoHS regulations came into force on 1 July 2006.
Westomatic is RoHS compliant and takes active steps to ensure that no restricted materials enter the waste stream.
